Heading to the island, any nice day trails?

#1 Post by archaeology_student » Sun Mar 09, 2008 11:00 am

Howdy,

Me and the little lady are heading to Victoria Tuesday, March 11, and then off to Port Alberni and then Tofino for a few days. Any good recommendations for a trail along the route to Tofino?

Cheers,

:)

:) This one is not difficult at all, however it does take you to a beautiful lookout of the Alberni Valley. As you are decending toward Alberni, on your right you will see a Coombs Country Candy shop or something of that nature. It may have changed names. It will be the first sign of commerce as you desend the hill aprox 2 to 3 kms from town.. as you pull in you should be looking right where you will see a gravel road heading up a hill. It is like you will be driving parellel with the h-way. You follow this gravel road for approx 2 to 3 km's. After you go over the train tracks there is only one road on your left. Take it to the top. There used to be an old fire watch tower there and you really do get a great veiw of the Valley.
Cheers
