Van Isle outing April 25th.
We're planning a day trip on the 25th. Bring a lunch! We're meeting at the Tim Hortons a mile north of Duncan, across from the Forest Museum, at 0930 with a 1000 departure.

I went for a bit of a drive tonight after work. Checking out gates and new roads in the area I was thinking of for the trip on the 25th. Guess what I found when I got to the gates? The area is a combination of gated FSR's and private logging areas. The old gates were pretty scookum but I guess not scookum enough.
The gates have been totally removed! And not by vandals either. When was the last time you've seen or heard of anything like that? Of course maybe they just figured there was enough snow that you won't get far anyway. We got pretty far, up to 790 meters. It should be pretty well melted by the 25th.
