Dare Britannia - experiences and opinions?

#1 Post by The_Anachronist » Thu Jan 07, 2016 2:20 pm

I have been looking over http://www.darebritannia.com and finding lots of excellent things.
Anyone worked with these guys? What they are like?

Feel free to PM if the news is not good - not good form to roast them in public!

Cheers.

Is this a new name for British Northwest? I got one order from Olympia Wa about 15 years ago and would not buy from them again. My feeling was that they tried to squeeze every dollar out of a customer that they could. I have not felt that way about any other parts supplier I've used.

I have not used them. When I read the website I got a bad vibe of arrogance about them. The kind you get where the business feels like they are doing the customer a favor by being in business. Didn't make me feel like I wanted to give them my business.
But to be clear that is a comment backed by No actual experience with them other than the website. . Hopefully they are a decent and Commited shop

I have now had two less-than-immediate email replies from Mr. Kellogg, and have been referred to (and discovered on my own), several other forums which discuss him and his businesses in some detail.

Suffice it to say that in the absence of a compellingly positive turn of events, I will be moving on to other suppliers.

I have read some interesting things about Charles Kellogg aka cornflakes.
Praise in public, critisice in private...probably why he's still in business.
How's the project coming along?

Heard and read some not so good reviews about this guy... Sounds like your typical arrogant British sort too! ;)
