Welder / Fabricator recommendations, Langley area?

#1 Post by The_Anachronist » Tue Mar 08, 2016 10:31 am

Soon it will be time to cut and weld. I need someone who is good and can understand what needs to be done, some easy stuff, some more delicate and tricky. Also, some Birmabright welding which I gather is tricky too.

Any recommendations for the Langley area, or not too far afield?

Cheers.

Balmer Fabrication (Darin) does great work. He created a custom winch bumper for me as well as made modifications to my off-road trailer. The first pic in the Craigslist posting is my Discovery:

I'm thinking it would be wise to have the chassis / bulkhead prepped first. Is this the kind of thing one has media blasted or prepared in some way before fabrication?

I have found a guy (thanks to Tony for the intro).

As for the cleanup before repair/fabrication... yeah, I think it's best to see exactly what is under the paint. I plan to get my stuff acid dipped before I drag it over to John The Welder. Blasting it doesn't get inside, and anything John is going to work on will likely get galvanized anyway.

Soon... big steps happen soon!
