Re: 2017 SnowFlake Chase Run - Sunday 19th 2017
13 Land Rovers and the "Bob-Sled" Izuzu made it out for the Local snow run starting at Cultas Lake, the weather was better than expected and we had already found snow about the same time that we left the asphalt. Even though we had scouted a week before, nature still had a surprise for us.... 10 minutes into our trail we found a brand new landslide blocking the tiny road ahead. Within the landslide of mud and rocks was a very large tree (with a very large root)! The good thing about having 14 trucks was that we had lots of people, so we quickly attacked the landslide with a chainsaw and lots of shovels and it didn't take long until we had cut ourselves a road just wide enough through the slide and the convoy was ready to roll again. The rest of the day was fairly smooth with a nice mix of snow & mud to keep us all entertained. Very enjoyable day, great start to the year of Land Rover adventures.
