Where to buy parts?

#1 Post by andrewd » Wed Oct 18, 2017 4:25 pm

I am restoring an old British Army Lightweight and have had great success finding parts on eBay UK. The best part is that for small parts they just pop it in the post and you have it in a couple of weeks.

I get the majority of my parts from Jeremy Pinney at http://www.parabolicsprings.com/

He can get you almost anything you need and for a reasonable price. The killer for me is the shipping from the UK so I try and order most of my bits from him.

My go-to parts source is lrdirect.com

I find their website works very well and the prices are usually amongst the best. Most part codes are in stock and offered in a selection of prices from Britpart, Bearmach, AllMakes, other OEM and (for those with more money than sense), Genuine LandRover!

Shipping is via DHL and (although it can be more than Royal Mail), delivery is very quick, especially if you're in the Lower Mainland - If I order on a Tuesday, the parts will be in my hand by Friday or Saturday the same week.

I find that even with shipping and duties, it still works out cheaper than local stock...

I find that Royal Mail orders are getting bogged down by CBSA/Canada Post at the moment - even 'faster' services are getting stuck once they land in Canada for up to 2 months right now!!!

I use Paddock Spares quite a bit. Prices are good.
