300tdi or TD5
Hello everyone, in a effort to annoy my wife, I am looking for a complete with harness and ecm 300tdi or TD5. Are either of these available in BC? Do any of you have one taking up space in your garage and would like it gone? I am wanting to increase fuel economy of my disco 1 4.0. So what better way than to stuff a diesel into it.
Cheers

Jeremy usually has a couple of 300’s available and maybe Aart as I sold him one not too long ago. No ECM or harness necessary.
Only 12 volt supply to the starter motor and diesel shutoff. That is their charm.

Well that makes it a lot easier then. Thanks. Is the TD5 electronic injection? Or is it mechanical injection like the 300?BlkP38 wrote:Jeremy usually has a couple of 300’s available and maybe Aart as I sold him one not too long ago. No ECM or harness necessary.

"in an effort to annoy my wife".... isn't that the Roverlanders unofficial motto? :D
Found this Disco for sale with a factory 300TDI that might aid in your cause... gets you a TDI Disco and also annoys the wife (cuz you bought another rover)... seemes win-win to me! https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds/ct ... 98426.html
(not mine, never seen it, usual caveats apply)
Good luck! Rob

Re: 300tdi or TD5
Td5 = ECU, injector harness, electronic accelerator pedal, quite a few more complications for an instal. You can google.
Not just a matter of obtaining an engine. Although everything can be brought in from the UK, and there was a guy in Port Alberni offering these conversions a couple of years back
Another option for a TD5 is to import a DII from Europe. I do know that they are going for cheap in the UK as government is actively trying to phase these vehicles out.

You’ll have a better go of getting a 300tdi to fit. My advice would be to just get a whole parts vehicle from the UK- then you can do a manual transmission swap as well if you like. I may have a container coming in June, DM for more info.
