SOLD*1959 Series II for sale $28,000
Well it’s time to sell my “project” truck. I picked this truck up about 2 1/2 years ago and have been slowly rebuilding it into a galvanized chassis from a 1969 truck. Mechanically this truck is excellent.
I’ve left the outside body as is because I like the patina and the truck has a great history. It was originally a BC government for Lands and Mines (you can still see the old BC oval logo on the doors) I bought it off the second owner who’s family drove this truck across Canada and shipped it to Europe in the late sixties.
The Original 2.25L motor was seized so I’ve replaced it with a motor from a 1969 truck which I have driven and it runs very well, I completely disassembled the motor and checked everything. It just needed the crank shimmed. (I do have the original early 2.25L if the buyer wants to rebuild the original motor)
Gearbox rebuilt
Axles rebuilt
All new brakes
New clutch
Bulkhead completely stripped and new correct ribbed footwells welded in, then resprayed in the original Land Rover dark grey.
Doors, door tops and bonnet all stripped and frames were either replaced or repaired before reskinning with the original aluminum panels.
comes with original hard top and soft top with new sticks.
I’ve also Installed a Warn 6014 winch; this is the cool model Warn made for a few years before coming out with the 8274. It has the older body style but works just like a Warn 8274 with power in and power out function. I’ve also wired it to operate from a remote so you’ve got an old school looking winch with fancy new electronics.
Currently has Michelin XZL’s which work fine but will need replacing in the near future.
I rebuilt the wiring harness to run an Alternator. SOLD $28,000 Can SOLD
I’ll get some more pictures posted soon.

I've seen this truck in person. The attention to detail is impeccable. Looked like no stone unturned. I'd go around the world in this one.

I’ve had the good fortune to meet Matt and get his advice and several parts for the restoration of my 109. The calibre of the work on this Landy is very impressive. As most viewers to this forum know, Matt is truly one of the most knowledge restorers out there and whoever gets this beauty, will not be disappointed.

Really nice, and all the details are there. You know someone is thorough when they don't forget the brake pipe strap on the rear axle. Thanks for adding the photos. Hope you get what it is worth.

Price reduced. I’ve been driving this truck for the last few weeks and it’s all tuned and ready to roll. Comes with the original hardtop as well as the full soft top as seen in the photos. I had the pleasure of meeting the previous owner, now in his 80’s, and was able to take him for a spin in his old truck! What a true adventurer, he took this truck across Canada where it was loaded onto the “Empress of England” in Montreal then drove it around the UK with his family for a couple years before shipping it back to N America and driving back from Florida!
