I found it a little weird that the license on the blue promo phot, when looked at in the reflection of the water reads 1986. Maybe they're trying to maintain the old look and subliminally take us back to the 80s... Hmmm, have to get Ralph Nader's take on that.

What is a Landrover that has lost the luvered vents on the front and is not able to mount a spare tire on the hood?

Very doubtful. They would need a gasoline engine version, and air bags, which don't seem to be in the cards. Maybe when the "redo" the model, but it will be a POS at that point (most likely). It is sad really as they could make a good off road, user friendly and lower cost version if they wanted to and make lots of money at it.
