Yanks Peak / Quesnel Canyon 29 August to Labour Day weekend
Attention : Rover-Landers . We have a club run scheduled [ 29 August thru to the Labour Day weekend ] . Our run [ during that week ] could take us up to the Quesnel Canyon , Yanks Peak , Two Sisters , Little Round top in addition to leisurely visits to the towns of Wells and Barkerville . The town of Wells [ in the vicinity of our 4-wheeling trips to Yanks Peak etc . ] has a corner store ... sells everything related to camping plus gas , propane and diesel ] . Just north-east of Wells [ a few kms ] , there are 2 small rec sites at Atan Lake and Chisel Lake [ good fishing ... bring a canoe or raft ] . We most likely coud use either of these sites as a base camp . Those who want to go wheeling [ day trips ] or fishing or hiking or visits to Wells/Barkerville can . For those who want to leave early prior to the weekend can . This trip will have something for everyone [ your choice ] . If you plan to attend , let me know via this board . At our next Rover-Landers meeting 19 August at Ricky's [ 7:30 pm corner of 152nd and Fraser Highway ] , we can further review the details of our trip etc . Departure time [ when/where ] will be posted . Thanx . Gerry Bolduc

Fellow Land Rover dudes/dudettes ; for those of us going north to Wells / Yanks Peak 29 August 04 [ Sunday ] - 4 September 04 [ Saturday ] , please take notice of our departure time :
We will departing from the Tim Horton's just north of highway 1 off the Whatcom Road exit . Departure date/time - Sunday , 29 August 04 , 7am precisely ! To get to Tim Horton's , take highway 1 east to exit 95 [ Whatcom Road ] and proceed north over highway 1 ; Tim Horton's will be on your right .
Dave Blair [ at our monthly Rover-Lander meeting 19 August - Thursday ] will be covering off any o/s details with regards to our trip north as well as confirming who will be going . Unfortunately , I will not be attending this monthly meeting due to business travel .
In addition to your normal camping gear , please make sure you bring along any medication should you have allergies etc . I have a pretty comprehensive wilderness 1st aid kit but it may not have what you need . Also , should any of us have a medical condition , we should communicate this and the location of our medicine [ if any ] to others . I will also be bringing my chainsaw [ for emergency surgery ] and satellite phone , just in case .
See you folks soon . :D Gerry Bolduc

Fellow trekkers ; I will be checking in with the local Northern MOF Districts to verify / confirm that access to our various planned destinations will be ok . A lot of sections of our province now have limited access due to the high risk of forest fires , ie the lower mainland .
I will post what I know . Gerry Bolduc
