Hi All,
I have one bad piston on my 1955 S1 Engine, it is the 4 ring type, standard size, small gudgeon pin.
Apparently also used on the Rover 60 car engines.
Anyone have one kicking around, good used, new or a set ... please let me know,
Cheers,
Andy

Andy,
You might want to post a request onto the OVLR forum site.

They have quite a few early rovers in the club.

Hi Andy
You may want to try Turner and Cox in England. I have been trying to find engine rebuild parts for my Weslake head 2.6 L 6 cylinder for 3-4 months now it has been absolutely frustrating. This engine uses a lot of the same parts as the series 1 engine.
I emailed them Saturday afternoon Saturday evening they replied that they most likely have everything I need except 1 gasket, amazing customer service on a weekend and they probably were not even in the office. I am %100 impressed, that's the way a company should be run.
Good luck. Victor
See you at Founders day only 40 more sleeps to go.

Hi Victor,
Thanks for the info, yes I have bought most of my new parts for the series 1 engine from Cox and Turner, I even went for a visit when I was in the UK.
They do have exactly what I need, but of course not cheap and shipping cost too!
I was hoping someone who has rebuilt a series one engine may of gone up a size with their pistons and still have the used standard ones tucked away!
Cheers,
Andy
PS- If you order any parts from the UK, get them to mark them "for a vehicle over 25 yrs old - HS code 9966,00.00" and you wont have to pay the import tax on them.

Hi Andy
Thanks I know about the 25 year old shipping thing I also know to ship by regular mail ground only which saves a pile of $$ and especially saves on the excessive courier border charges which can be more $$$ than the part.
Now if you need a set of rings for those special pistons I may know somebody who might have some. Maybe send me a PM.
Victor
