Well went to install the off-road tyres and install the Johnson rods and what do you know I broke a height sensor. Darn it!
Did a DIY MacGyver and patched up the height sensor arm. JB weld and twisted wire.
Might add the purple pipe cleaner for a little decoration.

I broke the height sensor on my dad's X3 5 years ago. I used jbweld and stainless wire. It is still working. As long as it is solid Andreas, it should be alright.

Took it for a test drive. Still working. Now if I replace the broke Sensor, do I still have calibrate the sensors after replacement?

Your repair looks good and solid. I think it will be fine. I have some material here to beef it up if it breaks again.

How is the repair holding up? If you go by the book, you have to recalibrate the suspension heights after replacing a sensor. In the real world however, if it is still level why bother. I have just made some "johnson" rods for my LR3, but I used commercial truck style ends and made all 4 adjustable. Works great.

The repair held up and is still holding. And to think I worried about all weekend. You made a set of JR?! That’s great. I’d buy a set of adjustable 1.5” “Tony Rods”, that’s for sure.

The patent is still pending, I think the German guy from facebook did the same (LR Time} but he only did one side as a levelling tool.

I did pickup a set of adjustable Rods (stock height or 2.5”) off eBay awhile back, look like the Britpart ones, I’m considering making a jig to drill them out to make them an adjustable stock height, 1.5” or 2.5” height. You know until the “Tony Rods” become available.
