Tried to look at PDF of Shop manual but its missing section "H" on braking system.
Many, many years ago my Dad took out the master to rebuild it. I couldn't find it. So bought one from SeriesOneShop. Would love a diagram of how it mounts up because all the bracketry has been removed too. Where does the reservoir go. How does the holder look like etc, etc...
Probably discussed earlier but what is the best manual to purchase online for Series 1

I suggest you join the Roverlanders club. Its cheap, gives you access to the members only forum sections (which include complete parts and workshop PDF manuals) and the printed club newsletter. Its also cheaper than buying a Series 1 manual online. 😱

A "Members Only" section. Intriguing! If it has scantily clad women posing with Land Rovers then I'm all in !!

No scantily clad women. Sorry.
However, your club dues do enable the club to host this website and forum (which you are using for free FYI), publish the newsletter and provide liability insurance for club events.
Just my 2 cents.

Hi, does your Master cylinder have 3 mounting holes or 2. The original S1 MC with the 3 mounting holes is getting hard to find so a lot of people change it to a easier to find Series 2 MC, using an adapter to mount it (2 holes instead of 3 holes).
If you have the original 3 hole MC then it bolts right onto the chassis outrigger, threads are on the chassis itself. My threads on the chassis were not usable so I was able to put bolts through from the inside to mount with nuts (see photo).
The brake fluid reservoir is mounted under the passenger seat (presuming its a left hand drive) next to the fuel tank. (see photo)
Cheers
