Hi Everyone
An aquaintance is trying to get his brother's (now deceased) 94 LWB RR air cared so he can put it up for sale. His call to me today was that the ABS light and the one above it . the one with an Xclamation mark on it stays on, the brake pedal is hard to push ie no give and the truck is hard to stop. ,
I would suspect the power assist or the ABS unit or hoses. Any suggestions as to where he could look first?
Cheers
Ted
PS Any idea of price range to sell at. It has 152K on it and very little rust but haven't saeen it myself.

RRC Brakes...
Hi Ted,
Do you hear the ABS pump running when you first start up? This can often point to a leak somewhere in the system.
Another thought;(from British Atlantic web site)
If your ABS Warning light comes on and stays on, you may have a bad relay. The relays are located under the drivers seat behind the seat surround, under the left seat track. The center relay us usually the one that causes the false signal. The valve relay is part# PRC9603.
I've also heard of ABS sensor failure giving similar symptons. Its worth a try if you can locate them (look like little spark plugs mounted behind your wheels) give them a couple of gentle taps from behind.
One final thought, if the vehicle has been sitting around outside for a while one of the brake pistons could be seized?
AS for the value of a 94 RRC, I would say between $5K to $10K
Good luck,
Andy
