Range Rover LWB or SWB

:D Looking to buy a RR tomorrow to supplement my 109.

Is there a preference for a regular RR verses a LWB? Regular one is 1990 with 3.9, LWB is 1994 with 4.0. Both look okay but the older one has a leak at the Power steering box.

Anyone know if they have different transmissions or transfer boxes?

I know where to find piles of stats on Series vehicles. Where could I find statistics on these old Range Rovers?

Thanks

Haven't looked at too much of that site, but it has been great so far.

Thanks for pointing me that direction.

Still undecided about buying a Range Rover.

The one is built 04 1993. The specs on the web say they went to 24 spline in "Mid '94" How do I tell? Since they start building '94's in August or September, is April late or early '94?

Both have leaky power steering pumps. Normal? Easily fixed?

Anyone got any answers for me?

I believe they have the same tranny and transfer case. Be preepared to spend money on the air suspension or consider a spring replacement kit. I know the 4.0 had some issues with it, dropping liners or something. The SWB should have springs as opposed to air and will be better off-road, I drive my 87 RR off-road and love it, although I prefer the earlier transfer case to the Borg-warner one in the newer RR.

Range Rover purchase.

Well, I made up my mind.

I'm not going to buy either. :(

The 100 inch won the argument but the 108 was nicer. In the end I'll stay with my 109 for a few more years as my one and only, at least till the boys are finished :D with university/ college.

Now I have to go, stand in a corner, and mope.

Or should I still buy the 100? :? (Don't answer! It is just me thinking out load.)
