The Rover-Landers of BC

Well it appears the seem of my Brake Clutch reservoir is damaged. I am looking and asking to see if anyone has one sell in great shape. I could clean int up and try to solder but not sure of anyone has tried that.... thoughts anyone?

Can you see where it’s leaking from? Usually it’s the fittings that can leak. You can remove the through fittings from the can and re seal them. You can also get new reproductions but they are not cheap!

Yup, usually through the connections. This not the case.... and yes $200.00 USD plus shipping for a soda pop sized can is bullshit. Going to go a different route unless someone has a gently used one for sale.

You don't say what year your Land Rover is, but if your looking for something more original ... $147 Canadian better but still not cheap, cheaper shipping for sure.

I have a 1968 109 station wagon, used JB weld for $6.00. now having issue with bleeding and building pressure. I have clear fluid to ALL for wheels and may have run into a bad britpart CB type brake master cyl.. Tried vacuuming all four line with no leaks, tried applying pressure to master cyl. 12 psi) to purge and no leaks. checked every connection and not luck. I have wasted so much brake fluid i now have damaged my paint.

Did you bench bleed the master? It is often needed due to angles trapping air.

One method I have used many times in the past is to clamp off all four flexible hoses at the wheels using vice-grips of clamps (take care to not damage the hose by using tape of cloth around the hose before clamping).
Once all wheels are clamped off see if you have pressure. If not that indicates the issue is in your Master Cylinder.
If when all 4 wheels are clamped off you have brake pedal pressure then that indicates one of you wheel cylinders (or possibly one of the flexible brake hoses) are bad. Remove one clamp off at a time and retest your brake pressure to see if you lose brake pressure once the each clamp is removed. This should help indicate what area your issue is in.

Thanks Andy D, Well I will know tonight as I changed out the Master Cylinder the night before last... I prefilled the MC before installing it and took a few mins to fill up the CB style MC. I will bleed the lines again tonight but upon first feel the petal feels much different than the last MBC.
