Never be satisfied when theres a known fault

Hi everyone,
I see it far too many times where Landrover owners get so worried about the cost of repairing their Landrover that owners will live with or ignore know problems; sometimes, even when there has been no diagnosis or quotation made on a repair. It's very easy to get scared to take your Landrover in for repairs because of the assumed costs, but I have a story about a guy who should know better...
...My wife's 96 discovery had a check engine light on when I bought it, I checked it, cleared and ignored it for the last 8 months. I finally changed the oxygen sensor that had an increasingly worse intermittent circuit fault which kept flagging a code and was turning on the emissions light. The fuel economy instantly got better, from 22L/100km to 17L/100km, a 30% increase in fuel economy!! With todays gas prices I could have paid for the $300 sensor in a few months of fuel savings.
The moral of the story is, never ignore or live with an emission fault, or any fault, get it fixed as soon as you can. You will be happier with your Landrover, you can save money on fuel or by not causing further damage and in many cases you may polute our awesome environment a little less.
Thanks for listening!
