Since I've decided not to drive all the way down to Oregon for the NWChallenge, I too would be up for a day trip or an overnight near by.

I would like to drive up to Squamish and see what the situation is with gate and bypasses to Indian Arm Road, apparently a BIG mess, as well have a look at the access to Levette Lake and Hut lake Trails.
