Derek,

Can't wander just yet.. but would love to. Got the M152 on the road
tonight. A few things left to bolt in then I can turn my attention more
fully to the 110. Hope you have an enjoyable trip.

Rgds

    Hello All;
Thanks again for all the recommendations to
fix my frost
plug problem. Stephen F.'s turned out to be the kicker; using the
starter to turn the starter dog nut off. Thanks, bud. Another one I
owe you. Ended up renting the ratchet set from Sharecost(Didn't know
you could do that). Got the nut off and spent the rest of the
afternoon just cleaning up the bolts and the timing chain cover,
probably install it tomorrow with a little gasket sealer, then let it
set for a few days before I fill it up with fluids. Thanks for the
offer of the tools, Glen. I shoulda contacted you earlier, got kinda
busy. So for absolutely nothing(which is what the part cost me),
except a mere 8 hrs. of labour, the job is done. Back on the road
with my new Buggered Seal Award to show for my adventures. Toodles,
folks.

               Kerry

       Glenn;
Sounds good to me, Glenn. I'm pretty sure
it's a 1 and 5/8. Could you give me a call, anytime this weekend,
and I'll pop around and grab it, or you can drop it, whatever works.
I'm soaking the damn nut in Moovit right now, hoping to persuade it I
mean business. I don't have the ratchet either, so that would also
come in handy. My home phone is 758-2365, cel is 713-0095, address
is 5809 Broadway Rd. I'm only home for the weekend, so I hope you
see this soon. Thanks a lot.

My clutch seems fine now? Still a little grinding running about town,
but
hell, I'm used to that. Still I should try to get rid of all that extra
slack in the mechanical linkages in order to get it to fully disengage!

Kerry,
That starter dog nut is torqued to 150 lb-ft. The recommended
procedure for getting it off is to put a large wrench on it, (in the
appropriate direction) with the other end of the wrench resting on
the ground. You then crank the starter, and that should loosen it up.

I had my engine out when I removed mine. I put a large wrench on it,
then hit the wrench as hard as I could with a 2x4. Worked a treat
for me.

Hey folks, Jim here. Kerry's away at school in Vancouver, and has
asked me
to post a question.

From Kerry:

"I'm stymied by the lower pulley/starter fitting. Seems it's an inch and
5/8, and most stores only go up to inch-and-a-half. I have a large
crescent, but a socket would be better. Just can't seem to get enough

Well I'm starting to slowly get reorganized? and I'm ready to put an
order in for some more of the Rally in the Valley Extra large T-
shirts! for $15. Now several people have talked to me already or
have emailed, but if you could all email a response to this link
then I'll have all the orders in one place and when there ready I'll
organize a coffee night for pickup!

Also Victor and I spoke to a Clive Robinson?
(clivedrobinson[*]hotmail.com) at this weekends Fathers day Picnic in
the park, Old English Car show. He has Just rebuilt a Light Wight
Series III and is looking to talk to anyone that has done the same,
Derek I told him, you'd be in touch hope that's OK? Also you
too have quite allot in common, regarding using the Base work shop!
Why you've never bumped into one another is a mystery? By the way
Derek congratulations on getting into the News Leader!

                          So this makes four
of us that were suckered
by the same stump. Steve Rogers got off easy with the stump just
tatooing his soft top. Mind you a big rock did jump up and lay a
beating on his front bumper, nice and curly now.
Gertie has the same style reminder as Dan's truck. The trail
definately has a certain pucker factor to it. Dave you'll have to come
back so we can finish off that run. Glad you could come over to
participate in the festivities.

Cheers

It must have been me that Dan was watching when he chose his track. I
took found the stump in two places leaving rather deep dents and a
huge scratch down the right side. Needless to say, the better half
wasn't as impressed as I was -- especially when I pointed out that it
had done a great job of wiping off the mud, which she was even less
impressed with! Oh well, I had a wonderful time with you folks.

Well, my version is that the root moved and struck the passenger
door and proceeded to smear its guts along the side. Then hit
the
fuel cap and bent it back about 3/4" out of place and smeared
more
guts along the side of the truck. Then receeded back to the bank to
patiently wait for the next victum.
I think the more likely story is that I didn't compensate enough for
the side angle I was driving on and slid down onto the second root
narrowly missing the first one, I might add.

I had to straighten out the fuel cap to open it just south of
Buckley Bay that is where it ran dry (thankfully I had some fuel)the
filler neck is still pushed back.
The red stuff has now dried up and doesn't look as bad.
looking forward to more off road trips.
Not a bill for you Dave but a visit from the constabulary with some
paperwork about theft. I didn't realize you were stealing the stuff
till you mentioned it.

Ahhh------ forget it! I'll just chalk it up to one of the
expenses of having the Laager here were I can sleep in the comfort of
my own bed instead of a chunk of hard ground for the night. Besides,
I'd have a huge expense at the stationary store for all the envelopes
and bills I'd have to send to everyone else too. (Can you imagine the
size of bill I'd have to send to Dave Blair? Mind you, tit for tat,
in return he'd probably send me a bill for all the weeding he did for
us.)

Hope you had a good time.

Thanks all for a great Satruday! My only regret is that I couldn't
make it
for Sunday's jaunt.

Already looking forward to next year!
