The Rover-Landers of BC

Just picked up a '69 IIa 88" to pootle about in whilst I'm in the UK, great truck, but the temp and fuel gauge both read about 50% low. What's the most likley cause? i.e. what should I investigate first? Many thanks, David.

Voltage stabilizer...One light green and two dark green wires ...held on the bulkhead behind the dash with one screw. Supplies power to the two gages and is the likely suspect.
