Attention NWC participants

You, your Landrover and your co-pilot must be ready to go at 00:00 hours, October 9th, 2004 from Copper Creek Recreation Site. No, that's not a typo, I mean midnight!!

Copper Creek Rec Site is approximately 9km East of Eastgate Manning Park on Highway 3. GPS co-ordinates, 49deg 11.373'N, 120deg 33.255'W

This is not a base camp, you are required to bring everything you will need in your Landrover, no trailers or campers please.

You will require a GPS, if that is a problem please contact me.

It is highly recommended that you have a second adult with you as a co-pilot and a CB radio.

Vehicle safety inspections will begin at 20:00 Friday.

Last chance for fuel is at Eastgate Manning Park, I will try and find out when they close.

If you have not already confirmed your attendance please do so by September 30th, 2004.

I am planing to have everything wrapped up by 3pm on Sunday.

Thanks,
Don

Poll should now work again. It was set to expire after 25 days. Don't know why, but now its set to work - just so long as you haven't already voted.

Dear NW Challenge participants,

I have asked our webmaster to make a registration form on our website so that I can get all of the necessary information in one lump instead of going through a hundred emails. When that becomes available if you wouldn't mind filling it out, I'd appreciate it!

Please register soon as there will be a limit of 12 to 15 vehicles as participants.

Be prepared for COLD and WET camping with the a good possibility of snow at about 6000 feet.

Please send me the names of your co-pilots and you and your co-pilot’s t-shirt size, the brand will be Gildan if it makes a difference.

Your last chance for fuel for the weekend will be at “Ultra Fuelsâ€

Group departing from Whatcom Road.

Anyone who wants to convoy to the checkin point can feel free to join us. We will meet at the Whatcom Road exit of highway 1 at 17:45 with a departure time of 18:00.

We generally meet in the strip mall on the north side of the exit. It is approximately 3 hours from this point to Copper Creek.

From the US, this is your first exit east of the Sumas Way exit if you cross the border at Sumas crossing. Highway 1, for those not familiar is about 2 miles north of the border, then proceed east, and Whatcom Rd is the next exit, about 3 miles.

The following link is to a zoomed in map of your exact destination. although there is no word descriptions on the map, the centre point of this mapquest map is where you want end up.

Mapquest Map to Copper Creek

The small dimple to the left is a switchback. You turn right into the Copper Creek campground from the centre of the switchback. You may zoom in or out for detail or to find your way from your point of origin. You may also move north, west, east or south on the map if you wish.

Good luck,

Dave
