Sorry this run has been cancelled see details below.

Hello everyone,

I'll be away until Friday, but I am planning to host a New Years Day run next Tuesday in the Squamish/Whistler area. We will have a guest from Wales who is staying in Whistler for the holidays.

I am planning on heading up to Madley Lake and loop over to the Callahan Lake road. The first 10 km off the higway has been under major construction for the Olympics Cross Country Ski Area.

Expect snow conditions, bring chains if you got them!! We will need a chainsaw as there was a tree across the loop trail last spring.

I will post more details on meeting location this weekend.

Thanks,
Don

Hey Don,
I don't have my chains yet. As you can tell by Pete's last post on the matter of the tire chain order I will not be able to pick mine up until he returns to work after New Year's day. Do you have any sense of the amount of snow we can expect on the route you have chosen? If it is going to be a 300 yard dash to nowhere without chains then I might give it a pass.

Happy New Year!

Wish we were able to attend, but we'll be doing our own snow run up here in the Okanagan. since we've had about 18" of snow in Armstrong since December 20th, virtually everywhere we go is a snow run...

The last New years Day run we had was in 2005 up at Cultus Lake/Sleepy Hollow. Bill, if you recall, no chains were needed on that one, just a camera to take photos of my truck dumped on its side — before you an Bernie flipped me back up on my wheels!

Cheers, Dave

Happy New Year to everyone,
Yeh Dave I remember it well, a tense moment or two. Probably could have used a wag bag at that moment

So what's the deal? Is this run on? I will need a trip permit so I don't want to pick one up today to find that the run is off. Details please!

Hi everyone,

I have not heard from the fellow from Wales and due to lack of interest I am cancelling this run.

The snowflake chase is just a few weeks away and we'll all have our chains to try out then as well.

Sorry for the last minute change.

THanks,
Don
