Nice, the rolling chassis is a Range Rover Sport (non-supercharged). The LR3 cutaway vehicle was an almost hand built vehicle we had for display and training at the North American launch of LR3 in Montebello, Quebec at the Chateau Montebello. I have a lot of pictures from that display, it was very cool, but it was crushed shortly after the launch ended.

Hey,
Nice cut-away pics!
Funny, I would swear that spring I can see on the cut-away wheel pics is the same spring that they use on the Series drum brake parts ,,
What function does that spring have on the new disc brakes :?:
cheers,
Andy

Hey Andy,
That spring is for the parking brake shoes. The rear brakes disc have a drum brake set-up inside them for the parking brake.
That LR3 cutaway, or one just like it, has been at the Landrover Training Center in California for a couple years now.

Don

Hi Don,
Thanks for the info ...
That's a neat idea having the parking brake as part of the driving wheel.
It also does away with the chance of the "5th" drum becoming disconnected from the vehicle and bouncing accross the street  Hey Kris knows all about that too!
