North Okanagan Run
Posted: Tue Jun 24, 2008 8:10 pm
Time to start planning for a Run up to the North Okanagan on July 18-20th.
We will be holding several day trips: First on the Friday afternoon for any early-birds, then all day Saturday and a planned off road route back towards the coast on Sunday for those wanting to stay off the main hwy.
On Saturday we'll likely have 2 Runs planned, a light to medium Run (no-scratch or damage) with great views and scenery and one that will be a little bit more challenging drive as well.
Camping is again available at Rover Ranch in the coulee, map HERE!
You are welcome to roll in any time after noon on Friday the 18th and, while still tentative at this point, we hope to have some sort of a pre-Run later Friday afternoon for those interested and if enough trucks to go.
Please provide all your own meals and camp supplies as per usual — with the exception of Saturday night. Saturday night we would like to have a Pot-Luck dinner, so bring something to share with the other campers. Good rule of thumb is to bring enough for double what you'd eat yourself.
We also plan to offer some fun prizes for such things as: Dirtiest truck & Cleanest truck at the end of Saturday, Land Rover that came the furthest etc, you get the drift.
A porta-loo will be provided, but there is no drinkable water at the camping site, bring your own water. Fill ups can be done up at the house.
This is a dog & kid friendly event however please NO aggressive dogs or dogs that might want to chase cows as there is a small herd (family) of 17 cows, calves & Freddie the Bull that graze in the coulee. However, the whole coulee area is quite big so they won't bother you as there's lots of room for everyone, but we don't want to bother them either.
We may have 1 or 2 locals attend that are without a Rover now or not wishing to off-road their own Rover, let us know if anyone may have an extra seat available so they can join in the day.
Please let us know if you are planning on attending.
Oh, and Pamela says there definitely will be cake!
thanks, Dave
