Anyone trying to make the Mystery Creek link road between Harrison lake west and Chehelis lake north should be aware that there is a new gate on Mystery Creek road a couple of Km's from the Chehelis lake end.

I was also told, but didn't see it, that the road up the west side of Chehelis lake has been (purposely) deactivated because of concerns about last years BIG slide still needing attention.

There are a number of new gates in the Chehalis Lake area as a result of the slide. We went in from the south end last month, bridge was open as were all the gates. The south end campsite and the Skwellepil campsite are signed as "closed". The Chehalis FSR is tank trapped just past the Skwellepil campsite as I imagine it is on the other side of the slide.

A few friends and I tried to take the Norrish Creek FSR up to Chehalis Lake a few weekends ago, only to be stopped by a gate just past the Chlorine Gas facility there. Has the gate that stumped us been there long? I remember it not being there a year ago. Will these gates be opened again?

Is there another way to Chehalis Lake from the south?
