Read Island Series I

I seem to recall some discussion about a 1949 or so series I on Read Island.
I thought someone went up and picked it up but can't remember much else.
Is there anyone out there that can fill in any of the pieces for me?
Thanks

Hi Stuart,
I am trying to fill in some details on this one. It was a very early ivory white 80" (most likely a '49) that came as part of a real estate purchase my parents and three family friends made in the early 70's. They bought 64 acres on Read Island just south of Evans Bay from a guy whose last name was Stubbley. The 80" was used as the general utility around the property until the gearbox was damaged while hauling logs off the beach. Yes, this was a true WORKING truck. When I last saw it had a plywood pickup cab and open bed. I remember that the headlamps were behind the grille meshing and part of the floor was missing. Parked beside the barn, it was rapidly being engulfed by a bramble. The good news? I believe the steering box and bulhead were in good shape!
I will try and find out more when I talk to Dad. I expect to be up on Quadra Island over Christmas and may be able to post some news later.
