Yesterday [ Friday - March 5 ] at 5pm on highway 99 before the tunnel , I spotted a Land Rover Series 11 [ I'm assuming it's an early Series 11 as I'm not as familiar with the earlier models as most folks are on this board ] . It was freshly painted a dark green [ wheels matched ] , had no top , mirrors were on the wing tops , had 2 wooden tool boxes in the back , no roll bar , left hand drive and no exhaust smoke [ a gas engine ? ] . The 1st #'s of his B.C license plate were 149 . This dude was cruising around 80 kms/h and just enjoying the fresh air . What an eye catcher !!!

That beautiful 1952 Series 1 is Lucille, she has been loved by Craig Jones for the last twenty years and now she is mine and Adams. I couldn't resist the sunshine even though I had to go to White Rock and back. It's good to know I was doing 80 as I had no idea with that old speedo. She is kind of a city girl so you won't be seeing her in the dirt too much as that is what desal is for....Cheers Stuart Longar

Ah Lucille,

I have seen you many times driving around Vancouver. You make me smile every time! I'm glad to hear you're sticking around the Lower Mainland!

Gentlemen,

It is so nice to see the nice comments about Lucille because she is a Grand Lady. I feel more like I have custody of her for the next 20 years until Craig's son is ready for her... We will be out and about tomorrow in Vancouver so honk is you see us....Stuart
