The Rover-Landers of BC

Hello everyone,

I'm relatively new to the Land Rover community and am the proud owner of a 92 RRC that gives me more headaches than I'm happy to say! :P I was curious if anyone knew a good place to find fuel pumps with pretty quick shipping to the Kelowna area seeing as my pump died just the day before. It's for a 3.9 v8 engine and the pump that is in there right now is electric. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Glad you're finding the board interesting, your fuel pump is probably available from any number of our commercial supporters. I can't vouch for shipping speeds but you might want to contact Alan Simpson at Roverworks. He is probably closest to you as the crow flies but I suppose there are others who can ship pretty efficiently from more distant locations.

A good source of info for you and your RRC is http://www.rangerovers.net/ if you look there you will find a section on replacing the OEM pump with a generic (and much cheaper) alternative. It requires some work as you have to physically replace the pump in the existing mount rather than getting a drop-in unit from a rover supplier but if you are handy it much save you some big bucks in the end. Being 92 you should have ready access through the rear floor panel.

I replaced my one with a generic pump from lordco from a chevy v8 pickup or impala.
Take out the pump unit take apart all the plastic stuff to get at the pump in the centre and take it down to the local parts store an check out early 90's pumps from v8 chevy's and pick one up for around $100 but you will have too change the plug at the pump, just a little soldering and some heat shrink and put it all together and your done .But don't get the super cheap pump get a quality brand as I cheaped out and it wasn't any good.
