IIA Transfer case growlies

Well I did not make it to Cloverdale. *Sigh*, I had to turn back due to some windshield wiper wiring issue. Anyway I was able to jury rig the wipers later on and drive the truck locally the rest of the weekend to see if the transfer case swap that I did worked out O.K.

My old transfer case had a crack right where the outermost PTO stud is located. This meant that I could not operate the Roverdrive, and took very limited drives in the truck.

Ray provided me with a good transfer box casing a coupel years ago and over the last few months I was able to Re & Re all of the innards from teh old transfer case into the new one.

Anyway with the test driving I did last weekend I found that the transfer case lever will sometimes pop out of high range and also that the transfer box is growling on the "overun"

My best guess is that I need to check the clearance of the intermediate and get the appropriate size Thrust washers.

As the original transfer case was rebuilt with only 5000Km on it I didn't change many pieces. However I failed to take into account the milling differences between the old case and the new one.

Please let me know if i am on the right track. I have some video capturing the noise for which I will post a link later on.
