I am going to need to replace my tires sometime in the not too distant future and would prefer to get a good used set if any are available that I can afford. Size is: LT 235/75 R15. Tire shops just look at me like I am from another plant when I enquire. Last time I had a flat they would not even look at putting in a plug so I bought a kit and did it myself and it works perfectly.

Hi Larry, are you sure they are 15"? There are a few 15" wheels around, but by far the popular rim size is 16" and that size in 16" is fairly common.

What vehicle?

Gentlemen:
Vehicle is a 1974 88 gas.
15s for sure - at least that's what is marked on the tire and I have doubled checked several times cause I know 16s are more common.
What is on it now is a badly worn complete set including spare of Riken
Overlands.
Oddly, the tires on my horse trailer are also 15s although highway rather than lugged.
I know this is a dumb question but is there anyway a tire marked 15 will go on a 16-inch rim?

Hi Larry,

Nope, no way to successfully month 15s on a 16 or vice-versa.

I did notice that Canadian Tire lists 10 different 235/75R15 tires, so I would say that's a good place to start. Of course, each store differs in the quality of work they do, depending on the management, but whatever you find there will no doubt be available from other vendors as well.

Also, I guess it is a good time to decide if you want to change sizes. Those are pretty small.

But, as Dave says, there do seem to be a lot of tires in that size. Not sure what is up with the tire stores.

What style of tire are you thinking about? What sort of use?
