The Rover-Landers of BC

I know this question has been posted a million times over the internet, but I might as well make me the next. 1995 D1 V8 doesn't go into low range. I pulled the centre console, sprayed the linkages with PB blaster and freed it up, took out the safety solenoid, but it still won't go into low. I tried everything in between (Hand brake on, under 5MPH, rocking it, brute force) but sill nothing. Any ideas?

try to get under neath it. work the linkages from under there. theres not enough leverage to free it up when trying with the selector from in cab.
had this problem with rovertyms body lift kit on the disco, especially with the 3 inch spacer that gets in stalled on the selector. just too much give.
