I've spoken with Allen a couple of times regarding parts...he's a very lucky guy as it could have had a very different outcome.
Get well soon.

He's been a regular attendee at Northwest Challenge over some of the past years. Greg, you've likely met him down at the Oregon event in 2010.
He posted this to the PCRC email group tonight:
I am alive and relatively unscathed, except for 4 broken ribs and the L1 and L2 transverse vertebrae cracked, along with numerous lacerations (I think I counted about 40 sutures) and abbrasions. I cannot begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for the medical assistance on site (an EMT, an Army medic, a nurse, and the Cliffdell search and rescue crew) not to mention John Cooper, Wayne and Cathy Phelps, and Afonso Carejo, the Kittitas County Sheriff’s department, the crew of Lifeflight and the staff at Yakima Regional Medical center. I am thankful for all their loving assistance and their prayers. Apparently I am not in that bad a shape given that the hospital in Yakima discharged me yesterday with a full complement of vicodin.
Some will notice the obvious lack of a roll bar, but then I never intended to be in a place that I might need one; future vehicles will certainly have one. The vehicle is a total loss; it feels like a good friend has gone, after 34 years together. I may be looking about for another Rover when all the paperwork is done to put this one away.
Thank you all for your messages of concern and support.
Regards,
Allen

Yes. Now i recognize the name and the 88 too. We were both at NWC '10. Amazing what a broken axle can do; or at least the description leads me to think that's what it was caused by.
Thanks Dave for sharing his letter to the PCRC.
Stay safe out there people.
