Hi Roger thanks for bringing this up.
We will be having the Whipsaw end of season run (BBQ)next weekend Oct. 20-21. Starting Saturday morning a group trucks will run the trail from the south performing light maintinance on the way (a meeting place will be determined this week). Upon reaching Lodestone lake we will be having a dinner supplied by the club. A separate smaller group will head directly to Lodestone Lake via Princeton to set up the dinner . We will be camping overnight at Lodestone lake. Be aware the elevation is over 6000'. Mountain weather is unpredictable expect snow and sleet ,rain ,cold and much misery. We will have some small shelters and a big fire at camp. Volunteers are needed to cut firewood and set up camp and help in the kitchen. The dinner menu will be: Hors d'oeuvre, Beef bourguignon, Lodestone lake garlic bread (secret recipe) , and an apple crisp. A few bottles of wine will be supplied but less this year to avoid another bacchanalia.

NOTE: you need to register for this run by posting here by no later than this Wednesday please. This will enable the chefs to purchase the food and prep for a certain amount.

Those will special food requirements will need to look after themselves.

I can be contacted by mobile comunication device at 604-two50-7268

Hi All,

I would love to join you. Sunday's trip was amazing, but unfortunately expensive. It seems those nice 20" rims are going to need at least $400 work. Does anyone have a spare seat so I can tag along while leaving the RR for some TLC? It would be much appreciated as it sounds like quite an adventure. Thanks!

I'm coming. I want to do the trail with you from the south. So, let me know where I can meet up with you all. I'll head to Princeton Friday. Anything special to bring besides axe shovel for maintenance issues?

Hi Chris. There may be some other trucks going up to Princeton way Friday night as well. You will be able to meet the trucks at the Paradise valley- Whipsaw road. It is just a few miles south of Princeton at the 1st hair pin turn. Andy should be leading and the meeting time will most likley to be around 10:00 am Saturday morning. This will allow around 7 hrs or so to run the trail and get to camp while it's still light. A garbage bad would be a good thing to bring. We Have 8 so far and 5 smaller ones. Can any one give Craig a seat; it"s good to have a passenger to jumpout and pick up stuff.

Lets set up some meeting times;
For the group running the trail, South to North
Whatcom road Tim Hortons (exit 95 highway #1) at 8am Saturday morning.
or Whipsaw Creek FSR turn-off on Highway #3 at 11am Saturday morning.

If you are just heading straight to Lodestone Lake from the North end, (not running the Whipsaw) you could still come up with the group to the Whipsaw turn off on highway #3, but then stay on the road to Princeton - Coalmont - Lodestone.

Anyone staying overnight should bring lots of warm clothing and warm bedding (it was -6 deg last year).

Craig, I have room if you need a ride along ... you will need to bring a tent along.

Cheers, Andy

Shaun,

Me 'n' #1 son Eric (he's the good looking one, works hard, polite, educated, takes after his Mum) are coming though this year we are leaving Esther at home and intend to join the working party rather than drive directly to Lodestone. Look forward to the horizontal sleet, mud and good company.

Glad to hear you and Eric are coming Dave. I could use some help in the fire wood dept. If you have a chain saw feel free to bring it I will bring mine as well. I recommend trowsers and shoes for this one if you have any. I am bringing O'Doul (the nice one)to keep animals away.

Hey All not quite sure where we are meeting folks but we will head up on Friday night and be ready to meet the gang doing the trail, so I am assuming that is the north side entrance with Andy. Can someone confirm perhaps, we will stay in Princeton at one of the motels so if anyone else is there then perhaps let us know and we can hook up. Then I guess meeting at the head of the trail at 7am?

Thanks all see you then and hopefully I have this right.

I'm in with one passenger plus I'll be bringing a Toyota buddy along in his truck. Who's going swimming at the lake?

I'll probably pick up the entourage at Annis Rd in Chilliwack. What time do figure you'll be leaving Whatcom rd?

Andy,

Eric and I will not be hooking up with you lot at Whatcom road tomorrow. We are slower than most so will proceed independently to arrive at the south end of the Whipsaw Trail a little before 1100. We will be monitoring 146.460 on VHF and channel 04 on CB (604 816-9912 on cell).

Weather sounds chilly, snow called for 1000m and above; maybe we'll get to put chains on the Lightweight?

If the wheels come off and all goes to hell, an alternate location for dinner will be Granite Creek Campsite, located near Coalmont. I don't believe this will be necessary (Rover-Landers rarely give up). I will see you all at Lodestone; snow in the forcast.
