Hey guys,
I was looking through your photo galley and noticed a nice front bumper on an ex mod 110. I am wondering if the bumper was home made by the owner or if it was purchased from a garage/website?
Cheers.
The bumper is in the picture below:

Yes, as Dave said, these are "homemade", Bill also has a similar one that he had made.
I'm sure they can give you some info on them .....
Bill.... Kris.....?

Thanks for the reply, that is some nice work on the bumpers.
I just rebuilt a warn 8274 winch and looking for some possible front bumpers to put it on. Although I may wait until I get to Canada for a new bumper.
For Bill or Kris or anyone in the know, what winches do they have on their homemade bumpers?
Cheers 8)

Yes, Kris's bumper is built from scratch but mine actually started life as a Superwinch PTO Bumper. Like Kris and others I like the look and practicality of the "up swept" ends. Both Kris and I are running Superwinch PTO winches, it's the old Fairey design. In the picture below of my bumper after ice breaking on Whipsaw, you can clearly see the additions and welded joints at the transition to the "up swept" bits. The bumper is all one eighth in thickness except for the two shackle tabs. After modifying it I sent it out for hot dip galvanizing.

Doug Shipman of Ship's Mechanical in Portland Oregon used to build a similar bumper for sale. Not sure f he still has any or not? Karl Nylund had one on his 88, see in the picture below.

The smiley bumper is the way to go but I didn't find that out until after I did damage with the regular bumper.
This one was built by Ike Goss in Oregon for my Series truck and a 8274 Warn, he's a great guy and has lots of interesting other land rover bits as well.
