I couldn't see a place to say hi before I just started posting, so hi!
I do a lot of off roading in the UK and thought I'd take a look at what other folks are doing. I drive a Defender 110 but most of the guys have DISCO 1's which are really cheap to buy and prep here.
When I got my 110 it looked like this.

It now looks like this

Welcome! You've got us all jealous. Here a 110 like yours goes for about the same price as a new, full fat Range Rover. Yours looks great! :D
We do think the same on cheap(ish) 4x4s. I just got an old Disco to do that (see Ming post). But again, there not exactly common vehicles over here like they are in the uk.
Are you going to try one of those around-the-world drives and come visit us?
Why did you take off the roof rack? I liked it.

Its like everything I do, lots of grand plans but you might be a little too far away!
A lot of the UK lanes are very narrow and tight and I was finding the roof rack was restricting what I could and couldn't do. By the time I'd tweaked the ECU, put on a better intercooler and a leccy fan it just seemed the best option to give me a greater range in the car. I'd be lying if I hadn't questioned the decision a few times and I spend a fair bit of time coming up with creative storage solutions for inside the car!

Makes sense.
We forget how small the roads can be in Europe. The UK Land Rover reviews always mention how HUGE the cars are. Over here they're pretty normal. I bet you could park a 90 in the cargo area of an Escalade or Suburban.
I've also been told the Rover 4.0 L V8 is a SMALL V8,
