I would but I don't have the dosh to buy one. The price of entry into the Defender club is just too high for me at the moment. So wanting one is about as far as I'll be able to reach for now.

Well that, and quite frankly, prices are far too high for what they are. Let's face it, as cool as defenders are, they don't justify the high prices. You're much better off getting a discovery, or a range rover. They're much better to live with on a daily basis too. But that's just my opinion.

Lol. I like them, but I can't justify paying $20,000 for a 15 year old truck.

The price is pretty steep for what you get, it's true.. I want one just for the coolness factor and simplicity. I think realistically, stock vs stock, my classic would outperform a 110 in most if not all off road situations (gotta love the traction control) as well as being much more comfortable. It's just not quite as rugged, and is more likely to have something go wrong. It was also only about 10% the price of a same-year Defender.
But I still want one. How can you not?

You've also got to remember that LRNA imported quite a few more Range Rovers, then they did Defenders. That being said, parts are quite a bit easier to come by. And A/C is a nice thing to have, no matter how crummy a system it may be

Is it just me that thinks that thing looks hideous???
One thing a Defender doesn't have to do is try too hard - it has undisputed pedigree. That thing looks like its trying way too hard to be a pimped up Dodge Ram when it should be proud to be a Land Rover.

I just checked, that is a REALLY expensive spray job.
I've got many scratches on mine, but that is so not happening.

Are you planning to build a Defender from scratch, man?
Just acquire a bunch of line-X and cover your whole rig in it, that's what these guys did. Just don't get any on your naughty bits, that stuff never comes off.
