Nice nuts.

Has anyone ordered these wheelnuts for defender? It seems so much more resonable than changing all my studs for wolf wheels.

Anything similar available locally?
Thanks.

You don't need to change the studs for Wolf wheels. The standard ones work fine.
316 Stainless is a very poor choice for a wheel nut

The standard ones may be fine from an engineering standpoint (I'm not an engineer), but sometimes they are definitely too short.
Glenn, if yours are the same as mine were before I changed them, the stock studs will not engage the last few threads of the standard open nuts. Some like Red90 are not concerned about this and perhaps it is a tempest in a teapot. Obviously your question suggests you've considered this already.
Notwithstanding arguments over the merit of 316 stainless as a wheel nut material, Wrington makes a nice product and I really like my nuts. Using them with the short studs certainly puts the issue out of sight and out of mind.... well at least out of sight.

Well from an engineering perspective putting on longer studs and then using a much weaker material for the nut is not getting you ahead. Certainly leaving the short stud AND using the weaker nuts would not give me comfort. 316 is just too soft and galls. If you are careful with the torque it will be OK. Some 18 year old at the tire shop beats them on with the rattle gun and you might end up with a seized nut. Their medium carbon buts may be fine, but I would like to see some specs on hardness, at least to see they are up to grade 8.

Yes, well I'm not about to let any eighteen year-old beat on my nuts with a rattle gun, steel or stainless, no matter how she looks. I find the treatment of anyone's nuts in that fashion a bit galling

Thanks for the advice.
I'll order some today...
It's so tempting but I'll restrain myself from further nut jokes. On this thread at least.
