We had a great time!
There was just about everything you could expect or want from a Land Rover adventure. I won't be specific about which is which!
A "mechanical" issue

Sunshine!

Tight Squeezes

And waits...

And a few offs...

Re: Snow Flake Chase Sunday Jan 26th 2014
Nice ... it was like a Summers Day up in the mountains between Chehalis Lake and the Hemlock Ski Hill for our Annual Snow Flake Chase run. It was a great turn out, with 12 Land Rovers, some old, some new, all keen to get up there in the fresh air leaving the City Fog behind! We started off at the south end of Chehalis Lake which was like a mirror reflecting the mountains and trees, then we headed East following Maisley creek. After a few KM's we took a left onto tight trail that headed upwards, we were on the search for snow .... The trail was thin and windy, had some challenging spots that required a spotter and some concentration but it was finally at 2569ft that we caught sight of our first glimpse of snow on the trail. First it was patchy, then a few inches, then over a foot! We had successfully "chased the snowflake" and found it. Snow chains were quickly deployed on the Land Rovers that had them and on we went. Forward motion was much slower now, we had hoped to complete a loop but it want going to happen today as the days are so short. We found a large clearing in the sunshine and lined the convoy up side by side for lunch in the sunshine. Some choose to play in the snow, some explored, other relaxed in their fold out chairs and soaked up the sun.
After lunch, we headed back down and out and made the highway just before darkness started to fall on us ...
I really enjoyed the run and was glad to share it with a bunch of keen Rover-Landers that had big smiles most of the day,
See you on the next one ....
Cheers,
Andy
