LT 230 PTO plate question

Hi Everyone
I am trying to determine if the stamped steel PTO cover plate on an LT230 can be replaced with an aluminum PTO plate from another LT 230?

I don't see much of a problem fitting the part as it matched the bearing carrier correctly and the holes line up... my only concern is that the "dished shape" of the steel cover might be able to hold more oil in it for lubricating the upper bearings than the flat aluminum cover but I cannot find any reference to this hunch anywhere. Am I missing anything? The stamped steel plate is bent and leaking so rather than spend some hammer time on it :violent1: I figured I could use the spare aluminum cover that I have in my parts box as I know it is straight and should reduce this leak problem... any thoughts on this?
