Any recommendations or horror stories for stock ride height shocks on an early 110?

I do mostly road driving with pretty mild off road camping. Will use the stock medium duty springs. Never loaded to the bump stops.

I've seen lots of recommendations including:

Billstein B6
Koni Raid (expensive!)
Regular Koni
OME

Told to avoid:

Terra Firma (don't last?)
Brit Part
Armstrong

Would love opinions.

For how you are using it, anything should probably be fine. No need to pay the big bucks.

I replaced mine last year, I have rancho 5000 on the rear, as they had them at Lordco, but I couldn't find anything listed that would fit the front, so I bought some Britpart cellular dynamics for the front. They all seem just fine. When the wagon is loaded up, and has some stuff on the roof I wouldn't mind if the ranchos were stiffer, but for 90% of our driving they are just fine. Our wagon is only loaded up when we are travelling, and even then, as we head down the road it gets lighter as we use fuel and water.

I have found OME Shocks to be garbage, think the box they come in is stronger! I wheel pretty hard and used the Terramerra shocks at the moment, stood up pretty well so far.

Nothing else I've seen lasts if used.

I have used the HD Old Man Emu Springs and shocks on my RRC and 110, they have a lot of heavy off road miles on them and I haven't been disappointed.

Another vote for Koni. And have a lifetime guarantee.
A bit awkward to adjust (must be done off the car) but once set should be good for a long time.
Most people set them on the minimum setting, but depending on your loading of the 110 you may need to go up a notch on the rear.
Mine are on a 90 and the short wheelbase can be twitchy on fast logging roads, but the Koni's have improved things.
Since you suggested a debate - Springs are shock absorbers, and the "shock absorbers" are dampers. Sorry for that.

I ran OME's with the 2" lift on my NAS 90 for 12 years, never an issue. On the 110, I have the same set up (specific to the 110) and no problems at all.
