I am trying to figure out where this large green wire attaches. It goes through the upper front part of
The motor to the drivers side of the Rover. Has a round fitting that bolts someplace... just can’t figure out where.
Can anyone assist? I’ve tried locating it on the wiring diagram pics but I must be missing something.

Hi

It is really hard to tell from your photos what's going on there. The only slightly larger green wire I know of that goes in that direction (maybe #14 gauge wire?) would be to the optional carb heater that some of the old solex carbs had. Those carbs went to northern climates where carb icing could be a problem. When the choke was pulled out power would go through the wire to the heater that was built into the side of the carb.
The carb had a wire (green?) coming out of it that was maybe 8-10 inches long and was joined to a green wire some where above the generator area with a single bullet connector. It then went around the front of the engine.

I will have look on the carb to see if there’s any indication of a heater being present

Okay

Here you go check this link it shows the wiring diagram with the optional carb heater wire. I think if your Rover was originally sent to the Great White North it would have had the heater element on the carb.
Chances are though that it no longer works and it is probably out of warranty.

I think that must be it. The wire is light green, pretty heavy gauge. The original carburetor must have been changed at some point as I don’t see any heating element or place to attach the wire
Thanks for assistance
