Garmin GPS 18 USB, is the antenna unit with USB adpater for a laptop PC and comes with city street maps, with directions and point of interest all included. It's a great deal $150. I also got a RAM mount and swivel post to mount the laptop securely in the truck!

Hi Wes
Nice photos from the trip, did it need much cleaning up at the lake?
It looks like your group had two punctured tires on the one day trip? What's the chances of that!!
Where did you go on to after the lake?

Here's the trip report from today if you've missed it elsewhere!
I'd like to thank everyone who came to the November Sunrise Lake Maintenance Run. Participants of the day were:
Steve -- '91 Ranger
Brad -- '81 BJ42
Derek -- '91 Sidekick
James -- '92 XJ
Guy -- '05 Dodge Powerwagon
Guy -- '92 YJ
Brian -- '82 Jeep J20
Gord -- '92 YJ
Wes -- '9? YJ
Dale -- '05 TJ Rubicon
Kris -- '87 Defender 90 <-- Winner of the day's prize, a fire extinguisher.
Kyle -- '91 Explorer
Leo -- '95 XJ
Vince -- '03 TJ Rubicon
Joe -- '85 Toyota
El -- '9? YJ
We met at the Sasquatch Inn, and just before we started to head out, we were approached by a guy who rolled his truck off the road approximately 16kms up Chehalis FSR. Kris and Brian headed off to try to winch him out while the rest of the group headed up to Weaver to air down.
Here's my shameless plug for the benefits of amateur VHF radio in comparison to CB. Kris and I were able to have clear communication the entire time he headed 16 kms up the Chehalis road while I drove up to the Weaver fish hatchery. When he decided that an additional winch was necessary, it was a simple radio call away...at which time I headed back to help while the rest of the group proceeded up to Sunrise Lake. When I arrived at the rollover, Kris and Brian were trying to winch the truck out of the ditch, but with only one winch, the pull was simply dragging the truck along the ditch. I hooked up my rear winch to pull sideways to help the extraction and in 5 minutes we were done. The guy we recovered had apparently run off the road the night before, and slept on the ground next to his truck all night before raising some help on Saturday morning. We got his truck started, made sure it could drive, and then headed back to meet up with the group at Sunrise Lake. Remember, there are amateur radio courses starting in the spring -- and equipment keeps coming down in price!!!!!!
From all accounts, the condition of the Sunrise Lake site is much better than it has been. A small amount of garbage was collected, and everyone enjoyed lunch while the weather held. I will be continuing to formalize our agreement with the forest district, and expect that in the spring, we will replace picnic tables and fire rings, install some garbage cans and put some new signs up.
From Sunrise, we decided that this weekend would likely be the last opportunity this year to take the Lookout Lake loop. We headed in from the Mystery Creek road and soon encountered snow. At the deepest point, there was perhaps 8" on the ground, and we did have to clear a few logs out of the trail. The trip around was interrupted with snowball fights, and occasional pauses while Ford guys changed tires.
Successes of the day:
16 Trucks out...one fresh off the showroom floor!
A successful vehicle recovery/rescue...
The Sunrise Lake site continues to be in good shape...
We made the trip around Lookout Lake and enjoyed the snow...
All of this and we still made it back to the Weaver Fish Hatchery before dark!
I think everyone had a great time...
"Feature Attractions" of the day:
The Ford guys lost exhaust systems...
The Ford guys had flat tires...
The lowered Ranger elected to try out the optional "gull wing" bumper.
The next run is on December 10. Same time and place. Hope to see you there!
Steve.

The odds are unbelievable. On Friday I threw out one of my front tires due to sidewall damage....and I hadn't been offroad in a month. Kyle (the Explorer) in our group punctured a tire just as we were coming out of the cut block back onto gravel roads. 300 meters later, my tire went flat due to an excessive quantity of lumber stuck in the bead. And then today my other front tire was flat due to inside wall damage. Two BFG MTs went to the dump today with more than 50% tread on them.
I guess it was a Ford thing on this run, because we both also lost exhaust systems for no apparent reason as well....sigh!
