Hi Everyone,
I received this message from Matt Mills in Washington...
Come one, come all. Dare to tread on the wild side with plenty of stunning vistas and up close and personal Evergreen woodlands. This years NWC will take place October 10th - 12th in beautiful Washington. Festivities will begin on the night of Friday October 10th at an undisclosed location in Eastern/Central Washington. Starting destination will be released post Portland All British Field Meet. The 2008 NWC will include camping, Saturday night dinner, specific tasks, fun competition, prizes, mulit-point turns, off-camber climbs, and of course plenty of articulation. Event is planned to conclude by noon on Sunday the 12th. As usual this event will test your driving skills, thinking skills, and your rovers capabilities. Note: Some of the travels have a high degree of difficulty that could result in body art (damage). To register contact Matt Mills at [email protected] or 509-308-9575 or track him down at the Portland ABFM. Information needed for registration: Driver's name, email address, phone number, postal address, co-pilot's name, and rover to be driven. Entry fee TBD. Volunteers needed to help with task competitions, base camp and fun (minimal risk to body damage, maximum fun factor).

Shawn and I are going to compete in the event. After the commitment the Washington and Oregon guys made to come up here last year, it sure would be nice to see 3 or 4 BC teams go down there this year.
There's a possible added bonus... it is being held in the Naches area. I've asked Matt if it would be viable for us to do a Naches Trail run afterwards, since we have a holiday on Monday.
Could make for a pretty cool weekend!

I'm happy to report we're back in one piece. Shawn and I, in my 1966 Series IIa tied for first, then lost in the tie-breaker question, so we came home with a second.
Great weather, albeit a bit chilly in the morning, great trails, some thrills and near-spills. I'll post a few photos in the next few days when they get sent my way.
cheers, Dave
