P38 U joints
So i bought my truck a few months ago and have been servicing things as time allows, the 2000hse had 171,000kms on her and it seems as though everything is as it came from the factory: plugs, wires, tires, tranny oil, diff oils, TC oil...and lets hope not the engine oil :) - joking, compression was great, and drivetrain is tight, with the exception of 1 ujoint, all the rest expelled the old grease over a two day period of driving and lubing but the one seems to be seized on two caps; so i am now at the point of buying replacements (might as well do all 4) and was hoping for seome help with part number for napa or CT, does anyone know offhand the number for the gkn/spicer unit with the HD designation? I have heard about this online but you know most parts shops just tell you whatever to sell the part that their computer lists as replacement, whether there is a better part out there or not. Thanks

It's the same as the Discovery II we have (and lots of other rovers, I think)
Precision 344 is the brand and part number. This is a premium u-joint. I believe Lordco has them in stock.
There is one higher grade unit than this, but I tried them last time and was actually disappointed -- very tight to install, and the zerks are in one of the end caps so subject to catching on brush and stuff when off-roading.
cheers, Dave
