What year is the truck? Sounds to me like someone ran the exhaust along the lines of how a series 1 is done. Perhaps an early series II uses the same path? Don't know, just guessing.

The additional fuel bowl sounds like an add on to me. but is there anything original on these 40 year old rigs?

I'm far from being an expert, but your exhaust on the early series II may follow the same route as it did on the series I, which is through the fender well. I did notice on my IIa that the wing still has patches on the inside sheetmetal where a pipe could go if the patches were removed.

You will need to find an early series 2 manual or someone that has a restored original.

Does anyone

Is the engine the original 2 litre, or is is a 2.25?

The 2.25 manifold points downward. I don't know about the 2 litre, but the earlier 1.6 pointed out to the side, as far as I remeber, thus the side exit...

I think the logical way (albeit perhaps not original) to do it would be based upon whether your manifold exits sideways or downward.

walker muflers make an exhaust pipe , a mufler , and a tail pipe for the 109, that is for all intentions as orriginal, and very good quality. i would go that way. .. all the best . rick.m 65 109!!

Is this the engine you have? Supposedly this is a mid 50s 2 litre.

In that case, unless someone else (Art? Al? Andre?) can shed some light on it, I would think that you got changed over to the 2.25 at some point during the life of the vehicle and the original exhaust was adapted to work. Rick's comments about Walker exhaust apply. However you're not necessarily going to find a walker shop as they are a jobber, usually working through the local NAPA or w.h.y parts store. Go there, specify Walker brand and they should be able to look it up for you.
