Andy: You've done a wonderful job of leading this event, and it was an honour to participate under your guidance! While I was originally not sure about going, I'm very glad that my wife "persuaded" me to locate some guts and get out there; we both had a total blast and can't wait for the next adrenalin rush with the club.

I've experienced a whole new side of the Land Rover as a result of this excursion, and more importantly, got to know an amazing group of Rover-Landers. Friendly, helpful, encouraging... it was excellent, and so were all those who came!

I pin-striped the truck, but now I feel that it really is a Rover! I'll be touching up two spots where scrapes were deep, but the rest I'm going to leave just as they are for now. Sort of a pride-badge thing. ;)

Once again, to everyone involved in planning, operating, and attending.... Thanks!

(I'll post the list of names in the members section, so that we can have them included in the news letter)

And now, for some images... Sorry about the low quality, didn't bring a great camera with (won't happen again). Click on the images for a large and more grainy version (I hope).

Snow only presents a minor inconvenience!

Out of the fog, something this way comes!

That was a fine day out! Really appreciate the easygoing attitude and relaxed pace. Truly a well organized and executed event- many thanks to you all for letting me tag along. Getting to see Rovers from all eras and with diverse configuration was a real treat! And the Mog was awesome, made me feel a bit inadequate! (lol) Hats off to the LR3 contingent, Land Rover obviously hasnt strayed far from it's roots, even if those roots have grown more luxurious! (Nice work out there Mirth!- You really grabbed the bull by the horns!) Couldn't believe how well the Ranger did- some fine skills there. Hope you will all keep me in mind for future expeditions and my thanks again.

Snow run ...

#30 Post by ANDYD » Mon Jan 11, 2010 10:44 pm

I too had a great time, we had a bit of everything on this run!

A little muddier than expected on the hills but it gave us all a chance to get those new "toys" out that we bought ourselves at Christmas or won at Founders Day!

We did hit snow at around 3000ft and official claimed the Snow Flake Chase complete!

Thanks all for coming out, special thanks to our new VP Pete for helping me scout out the trail the weekend before and assist with some well timed spotting between the rocks.

See you on the next one....

cheers,
Andy

It was a great time andy and you guys deserve a big thank you for organizing it. My family and I had a great time and gave a chance to offroad our Rangerover for the first time. Still miss the old one RR, but know it's in a good home.

Thank you for a great trip. I had a great time. I was very nice to finally meet everyone after a few years of chatting on this forum. I hope i can make it out on more of these drives.
I know I wasn't driving a Land Rover, but just the same it was great fun in the Iltis. Hope you dont mind if the Iltis joins a few more of the runs, as long as i can keep up with you.

Does anyone have more pics of the run? I didnt bring my camera on the trip unfortunately and would like to see more so i can show the family.
