Found a '74 SIII 88 -- Roddy -- this weekend on the mainland, and he will be coming home to Vancouver Island next April. For the winter he'll hibernate indoors at his old home (alas, not in the climate-controlled shop), and I will retrieve him in a few months. His frame and floor look excellent, and the springs are still almost shiny black; I'm told the frame was replaced in 2001, and looks it to my amateur eyes. I had to pull and clean the spark plugs before he'd run on more than two cylinders but then ran cleanly, though old gas sat in the carb for a good while; some tune-up parts are a must for the drive home. Roddy's name has stayed constant through the past three owners (I think there have been four in total), so who am I to change it?
