Does anyone know which Old Man Emu front springs would be appropriate for a Discovery I 300tdi with a winch? The bumper is the stock bumper (for now).
I was thinking the weight of the diesel, extra battery and winch justifies the 766 Extra HD springs up front, but I don't want it too high. Will the 751 HD springs be underrated?
I am going with the 762 HD rear springs.
Thanks for any advice.
Sincerely,
300tdi Weight/OME Springs

The springs are actually designed for the TDIs as they are much more common in Australia.
I would personally offer caution with using stiff springs. It really makes these trucks a lot different and destroys the ride. The 762s in the rear without a lot of load are too stiff from my own experience.
I would put the stock 90 rear springs in the front. They are basically the same as the 751s and you should be able to get them free.

I should add. OME springs (and the many copycat ones out there) were designed for carrying a lot of stuff (expedition use) and they work for THAT use. They were not really intended for a lot of lift or comfort. If you put them on for lift in an unloaded vehicle, they are not that great.
I lived in Australia for 5 years and was in a large Rover club. It was very rare that anyone there bought or recommended ARB/OME parts.

Thanks for the reply, Red90. Kind of like the way they export all the bad Fosters beer? I was worried about stiffness, and not being taller in front than in the rear.
I already have the 761 medium front and 762 heavy rear setup my V8 Discovery. I was going to swap it right over, but the 761 fronts are, IMO, too light for the diesel. I find the ride pretty tolerable with that setup, especially as I typically drive around with quite a bit of junk in the back.
I'm basically looking to get the ride height back out of the tired front springs in there now. I'm not sure which springs they are, but they are not OME, and were installed when the car was in Australia. The shocks are OME.

Then move the 762s over and find some used 90 rears NRC9448/9, http://www.members.shaw.ca/jbarge/springinfo.html I'm sure someone down there has some lying around getting old. You could try the 761s first. They are stiffer than the stock Disco diesel springs.
Yes, I never saw Fosters in Australia.
