All,
I've read that in '93(?) Land Rovers switched from 10-spline to 24-spline axles. Is this a difficult retrofit? Is the housing the same?
I'm told spring-shackle mounts need to be moved to install a Salisbury -- Dana? -- axle on a Series LR; would a 24-spline axle upgrade need any frame changes?
Thanks,
upgrade to 24 spline axles on S3?

I'm pretty sure a 24 spline diff and shafts will go straight into a stock Rover rear axle by putting in a center from a coiler. If you want to keep the Series 4.7 R&P, you need a spacer.

See hear for some shafts that won't break.

Just Google on the Sals swap if you want to go that route. There are some downside to a Sals. If SWB, the driveshaft is pretty short. Then weight and ground clearance.

Many different Rover 24-spline gearing choices from Great Basin Rovers. Thank you Teriann Wakeman:
