Is it only open to rovers? Would I get kicked out if I showed up on a 2X2 motorbike?

Rover only........

#3 Post by ANDYD » Sat Dec 03, 2011 11:47 pm

Hi Alex,

Founders Day is one of our rare club events that is Land Rover Only event :(

But on saying that, if your bike was a Land Rover accessory (ie hanging off a land rover like a high lift jack!) then there is no reason you couldn't be in the Barn with the rest of us!
It was a lot of fun watching that machine run the Whipsaw last month....

Cheers, Andy

Founders Day 2012

#4 Post by ANDYD » Thu Jan 05, 2012 11:11 pm

15 days and counting, time to put those finishing touches on your truck, .....so top up the oil, charge up the battery, dust of the cobwebs and shine up your 25th anniversary Rover-Landers badge.... only two more weekends left to make the "love-of-your-life road worthy!

If you're from out of the lower mainland and looking for a place to stay, we have a hotel that's about 10 minutes away that's provided a special rate for Friday and Saturday nights.

The Ramada Inn will provide rooms for $79 per night including breakfast if you ask for the ROVERLANDERS rate when you book.

Their number is 604-576-8388 and website is http://www.ramadalangleysurrey.com

We will be bringing some Overland Journal, Expedition Portal, and Rainforest Challenge swag (Stickers, Magazines, Flags, Jackets, etc.) to give away, so make sure you show up to get something.

Cheers

Ray

Hi Ryan,
Dogs are allowed into the Agriplex Arena but should be leashed or in your car during the show.

HELP!

#11 Post by Doc Tari » Thu Jan 19, 2012 8:21 am

As in previous years, we plan to have the teeter-totter at Founder's Day. And as in previous years, we need some help getting the heavy beast loaded at Mark Mak's house in Langley and set up at the venue. We need at least one body for Saturday morning in Langley to load it. If anyone lives in or around Langley and can help, please contact me.

Thanks,
Pete

Thanks Ryan, your help at the Agriplex would be great. The AGM starts at noon so we'll aim to get the teeter-totter set up by 11:00.

Pete

Thanks everyone for a wonderful time at founders day. Sorry I couldn't stay right to the very end, had to go collect the kids. But it was super to see so many familiar faces.

Well done to all for a great show! I couldn't help noticing, however, that there seemed to be a preponderance of Land Cruisers in the parking lot of the Agriplex! I was hoping to join the group for the snow run but duty called at home...

Funny aside- I was chatting with a fellow 'Cruiser owner while watching the ramp champs do their thing when I realized I had left my lights on for 3 hours... He advised me that under no circumstances was I to open the bonnet if the batteries were flat, that I should leave the truck until dark and then skulk back with the booster... (lol!)

Best for the new year....

What happened to 2011?

#20 Post by Dave_F » Mon Jan 23, 2012 9:45 pm

Just noticed on my "Best Military Land Rover" award this year...(thanks to all who voted for my 110)...that it states 2012.

Now that in itself is not the issue, however last year my truck won the same award and the certificate was for 2010.

So where did the year 2011 go....???? :? :? :?

Another GREAT Founders Day...thanks to all for their hard work putting it together, and to all the club members who brought out their rigs for us to view and enjoy.

I think we may need to consider changing the name to Show and Shine, as I did notice Anne and Stuart, shining up the trucks, which by the way, won best 110, and best of show. ...it seems there may just be some sense to washing your Land Rover....occasionally

Yes, agreed a really great day, many thanks for all that came out and supported our annual event.
58 Trucks entered into the Arena and large numbers of walk-in's through out the day. We had a huge table of great raffle prizes and lots of availability in the Rover-Landers merchandise. Technical displays through the day, the Articulation ramp & the famous RL Teeter-Totter :bounce:

Starting many months before January with event preparation work & then lots of "hands-on" help on the day, espeically the two hours before and the two hours after the Event.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped us out.

I believe we have a very unique Land Rover Show that we will keep going for as long as there is enthusiasm to come out and join in.

Cheers, Andy :occasion5:
